Lost something in the Library?
- Visit or contact the location where the item was lost and check with our ASKus desk staff.
- We record all items turned in at our staffed locations. Lost and Found locations on City Campus are Architecture Library and Love Library. The Lost and Found location on East Campus is Dinsdale Family Learning Commons.
What if it isn't in the lost & found?
- Look where you were sitting. Sometimes you'll find it exactly where you left it!
- Check back later or the next day. There may be a delay between when an item is found and when it is turned in to one of our desks.
- Not all lost items are kept at the Library. Items that meet UNL Police Department (UNL PD) lost and found criteria are turned over to them for security. For a complete list of accepted items, visit the UNL PD Lost & Found page.
- Lost NCards may have been turned in to the NCard Office in Room 124, Canfield Administration Building, or turned over to UNL PD if Canfield is closed. *Patrons should be encouraged to report lost NCards to the NCard Office.
Found something in the Library?
Turn it in! Bring any item you find in one of our libraries to the closest ASKus service desk. We record the item, where it was found, and where it is currently being stored.
- Found items in Love Library are transferred to the Love Library South ASKus Desk at the end of the day. Items can also be turned in to the ASKus desk in the Learning Commons.
- Items found at Architecture Library and Dinsdale Family Learning Commons are held at those locations for the current month and then transferred to Love Library for an additional month.
- Items found at the Mathematics or Music Library can be turned in to the building's lost and found location or brought to the Love or Architecture Libraries.
*Lost items are kept for the current month and one previous month before being considered abandoned property.
