The University of Nebraska Libraries does not accept most book or materials donations from personal or departmental libraries. This policy is due to increasing space constraints and the high cost of sorting, reviewing, and processing donated materials.

However, University Archives & Special Collections serves as the repository for rare or unique books, unpublished materials, and personal papers, as well as the permanent records of the university. Consider donating these types of materials. Materials representing diverse perspectives and stories are especially welcome.

See the Gift Policy page for additional details, as well as suggestions for other places to donate books.
