Yes, and no. You have more access as a current student than you would as a community user.

To check out materials:

  • current student registered for at least one credit or thesis hour,
  • currently employed at UNL,
  • or have a current community borrowing card.

Anyone can view and use materials inside our libraries.

Access to electronic resources:

  • On Campus access:
    • current student registered for at least one credit or thesis hour,
    • currently employed at UNL
    • have a current community borrowing card.
  • Off-campus access: or have a current community borrowing card.
    • current student registered for at least one credit or thesis hour,
    • currently employed at UNL

For more information on community library access:

  • If you are a Nebraska Resident, you may request a Community User Card to borrow library materials and use designated library computers located in Love Library or Dinsdale Family Learning Commons. You have 90 minutes of daily computer use.
  • If you are not a Nebraska Resident, or if you only need computer access, you can also apply for a non-Nebraska resident card. You will have up to 90 minutes of daily computer use.

You can also bring your laptop or mobile device and register as a guest on the UNL wireless network.
